Flying into Queenstown

Queenstown Airport is located approximately 8km central Queenstown via State Highway 6A – less than 15 minutes by car. There are a few options to get to and from Queenstown Airport to the city.
Bus services to and from Queenstown Airport
The Otago Regional Council, with support from the Queenstown Lakes District Council and New Zealand Transport Authority, brings you Orbus – a new bus service for Queenstown.
It is the easiest, most convenient and most affordable way to get around Queenstown with flat-rate fares for just $2.
The buses run to and from Queenstown Airport regularly throughout the day from 6am until midnight – locals and visitors can plan their route via the real-time Choice app to ensure they reach their flight on time, without having to consider traffic and parking. Taxi & Uber
A taxi or Uber from the Queenstown Airport to Queenstown will cost approximately $20 to $30 NZD.
The taxi/Uber journey between the airport and central city can take up to 30 minutes during peak traffic periods. If you are travelling to the airport by taxi, make sure you allow plenty of time.
